Entering the 2020s, high-computing data centres are springing up all over the world. According to Arizton’s latest research report “Australian Data Centre Market – Investment Analysis and Growth Opportunities from 2022 to 2027”, the Australian data centre market will reach US$9.6 billion (about 69.1 billion yuan) by 2027, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.67% in the next few years.
Australia’s data centre industry is expected to grow at a rate of 45% between now and 2027, with more hyperscale developments expected to occur in cities such as Sydney and Melbourne, and more edge data centers expected to be deployed in places such as Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
At the same time, Australia is currently committed to a renewable energy strategy, aiming to generate about 100% of electricity from renewable energy by 2030, and working with large data centre operators to adopt renewable energy to achieve carbon neutrality.
